Brownfield Assessment

EBI guides industrial, commercial, and governmental clients through a realistic evaluation and assessment of the liability and costs associated with the redevelopment of environmentally-impaired properties that are otherwise valuable. The successful redevelopment of these properties requires foresight and experience in understanding how the interests of all stakeholders may vary and how they can converge. Sometimes a successful project may include leaving contamination in place after development, but controlling contamination and eliminating exposure to hazards can also eliminate the risks. EBI understands these and other risk management approaches.

EBI assists with any and all parts of brownfields redevelopment, including:

  • Deed restrictions and covenants not to sue
  • USEPA Brownfields Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs)
  • Investigations tailored to meet development and acquisition schedules
  • Construction safety programs
  • Soils and dewatering management plans
  • Expedited Assessments to inform of potentially “deal-breaking” environmental issues
  • Remediation cost estimating
  • Identifying brownfield development prospects
  • Identifying sources of public and private development assistance
  • Public Outreach

Our experts stay informed on changes in environmental regulations, insurance, and other options that are available to cap potential future liabilities. We have the expertise to justify appropriate and cost effective risk management approaches to interested parties, and EBI's remediation and safety experts can contain and cleanup site contamination in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.

Our Goal: Turning Unprofitable Properties into Income Generating Properties
