Hydrogeological Studies
As part of an overall sustainability program or as a stand-alone effort to reduce operating costs, EBI can evaluate for its clients the potential to use groundwater as an alternative to municipal water. The use of natural aquifers underlying client property as a source for potable, irrigation, cooling, and/or process water can result in substantial long term financial savings and more environmentally sustainable operations.
EBI's hydrogeologic services are the resource EBI's clients need to:
- Determine water supply alternatives
- Comply with water supply permitting and monitoring requirements
- Predict and/or verify the affect of groundwater withdrawals and recharge
- Predict aqueous contaminant fate, migration, and duration
EBI's hydrogeologists can evaluate the effects that the withdrawal of groundwater by others will have on your groundwater supply, or if it will increase the extent of groundwater contamination that may exist on your property.
EBI hydrogeologic study experience include our permitting a "small community" groundwater withdrawal for a retail mall owner's expansion; documenting that contaminated groundwater would not reach a municipal wellfield; and demonstrating that long-term construction-related dewatering would not affect the local potable groundwater supply or wetland wildlife habitat.
